Challenge Met

A few weeks ago, my cousin Rebecca Sandy, challenged me and my cousin Robin Craddock to create two cards using a trendy product that none of us had used before — sequins. She even sent me quite a collection of sequins to play with.

My first thought was to create a shaker box.

Shaker boxes are fun and easy to create and they can be filled with all sorts of things — beads, tiny die cuts, glitter and sequins.

First, I created a card with a Peel-Off from Elizabeth Craft Designs and paper from American Crafts. Then I added two layers of dimensional foam around the place where I wanted the box.

I filled it with sequins and added acetate to the top. Then I covered that with strips of paper and more sequins (I got a bit carried away).

The second one was not as easy. Fortunately, my friend Angie was sitting beside me and she helped me come up with this design …

Super simple, but festive and fun. I think it would be even more fun if you included some loose sequins inside when you send it.

So there you are Rebecca! I met your challenge and now I challenge you and Robin to make a new type of card … a stand-up card using one of the stand-up helpers from Elizabeth Craft Design. Do you accept?
